Back in the year 2004 I found an article about the VESTAS Sailrocket in a magazine. That was before I started with sailing in 2005. During the year 2006 my interest in all kinds of sailing were raised, so I watched via internet for all kind of sailing articles and infos about this fascinating sport... And there were several websites, videos, etc. about the World Sailing Speed Record. First, I only take a look and was very impressed, how skilled all these teams are in construction, sailing and all the things which come up running such a projects. And then, something was starting to work inside my own head... What if the hull is in this shape, what if the mainsail is a wing, what if things are designed this way or that way... BONG ! Suddenly I found myself thinking about my own design for a boat, maybe able to speed up to 40 or ahead 50 knots...
