The Schnellfisch is designed as a prototype hightech sailingvessel to compete (maybe) in the "World Sailing Speed Record" Challenge and described as: fast - red and awesome The Schnellfisch uses aerodynamic principles which are usually can be found in aircraftdesigns. The structural design is a hightech fibre reinforced construction,which will allow lightweight and enable the needed strength of hull and sail. The design based on pacific proas but in a very inno- vative interpretation. The mainsail is a solid wing con- struction very similar to highly effective soaringplanes. The vessel will be manned with one pilot. The hull is designed with 21 feet lengh over all. The keelsystem will carry hydrofoils, which are espacially designed for this boat.
